WHAT IS FENG SHUI?
Feng Shui is a method of environmental analysis based on a traditional Chinese system combining energetic calculations, the study of form, elements, the orientation of places, and the interactions between occupants and their living space.
It is a structured system that allows one to read and interpret the energies present in a place, as well as their interactions with the people who live there.
AN ANCESTRAL PRACTICE
Feng Shui has existed for several thousand years. It is based on the observation of the relationships between human beings and their environment. The term "Feng Shui" literally means "wind and water," two natural forces associated with the circulation and movement of energy in a space.
IS FENG SHUI A RELIGION?
No. Feng Shui is not a religion. It is a method of environmental analysis based on traditional Chinese principles. It can be used by anyone wishing to better understand their living space and create an environment that better supports their well-being, stability, and personal goals.
FENG SHUI IN HISTORY
In ancient times, Feng Shui was a discipline reserved for emperors and noble families. Feng Shui masters and Ba Zi astrology experts were among the most important advisors to the imperial court and were consulted to guide major decisions of the empire.
These practitioners, in imperial times, were observers of the sky and natural cycles. Their role encompassed knowledge now associated with astronomy, meteorology, mathematics, and ancient forms of metaphysical thought, particularly in the study and interpretation of time cycles and natural influences, to interpret the energetic influences present at that moment. Their analyses were used to determine very concrete elements of daily life and strategic decisions, such as the favorable time for harvests, military movements, or major political decisions on which the Kingdom depended.
Feng Shui was therefore used as a system for observing and reading natural influences to promote the most favorable conditions and avoid periods or energetic configurations that were less propitious. This approach aimed to align with natural cycles and minimize unfavorable influences in important decisions.
Today, Feng Shui primarily applies to homes and living and working environments, but it still relies on these same fundamental principles of observation, calculation, and interpretation of energies.
